Report: Home prices in DFW rise 9.5%; Texas sees new real estate heights

Dallas-Fort Worth home prices rose 9.5 percent year-over-year in the fourth quarter of 2015 as the demand for single-family homes in the region continued to surge, according to the Texas Quarterly Housing Report released Monday by theTexas Association of Realtors.

Ahead of the Bell: US existing-home sales

Economists forecast that sales rose 9.2 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5.2 million, according to a survey by data firm FactSet. This would be a bounce back from the slump to a rate of 4.76 million in November, when new mortgage disclosure regulations likely made it harder for buyers to finalize their contracts and complete sales.
